The second BabyRobot technical meeting took place on 5-6 December 2016, Hertfordshire, UK.

Slush 2016

One of Europe’s leading startup events, Slush connects startups and tech talent with top-tier international investors, executives and media. Furhat Robotics as a partner of the Babyrobot consortium exhibiting at the Slush tech-fest in Helsinki this year (Nov 30–Dec 1 2016).

Skolforum 

As partner of the BabyRobot consortium Furhat Robotics was exhibiting at Sweden’s biggest Expo for schools and education, demonstrating the timeline game (October 30-31 2016).

BabyRobot at “Co-designing child-robot-interactions” workshop – Robophilosophy 2016

The workshop “Co-designing child-robot-interactions” explored approaches for designing robots for children that incorporate the needs and preferences of children, themselves. Blue Ocean Robotics presented results and findings from a longitudinal, CRI study of social robots deployed “in the wild” (outside of the lab) in Danish educational settings and how these experiences are used in the BabyRobot project to improve CRI and develop more interactive social robots.

Furhat Robotics becomes the Winner of EdTech Sweden 2016

Furhat Robotics wins the EdTech Sweden 2016 competition with these words from the jury:
“Furhat4Education is a social AI, and talking robot platform, that revolutionizes how children collaborate and solve problems in school”.

Participation in IP EXPO Nordic 2016

Furhat Robotics as a partner of the BabyRobot consortium exhibited and gave a key note talk at the IP EXPO Nordic 2016 (27-28 September 2016).

Dissemination to the media at large

BabyRobot will be presented by partner Athena RC in the occasion of “Paneuropean Researcher’s Night 2016”, which will take place at the National Centre of Scientific Research “Demokritos” (Athens, Greece) premises on 30th of September 2016. It will also be presented during a pre-event which will take place on 27th of September, at the Athena RC premises. The objective of these events is to provide information about current research programs and achievements to students, researchers, the industry and the general public.

Publications at the Interspeech conference

We are delighted to announce that a number of papers were presented at the Interspeech conference in September 2016. Interspeech is one of the world’s largest conferences on spoken language processing. More information can be found in the “Publications” page.
